Once their eyes adjusted to their new surroundings, the four ponies and zebra found themselves standing in a field before a village.  Nothing in their lives prepared them for what they saw. Villages in Equestria, no matter the level of poverty, were well taken care of and well lit at night. This one almost had the look of an old beat up ghost town. Not only that, the street lighting was incredibly dim. If not for the moonlight and light seeping out of windows, it would be almost pitch black. As they started walking through the streets the deplorable living conditions became more apparent. The stone buildings were stained and crumbling and any wood used in their construction was rotted with time. Another blaring observation was the locks on the doors. Ponyville was such a peaceful place, most dwellings didn’t even have locks and those that did were hardly ever used.
